By far the best place to stay ever. Right on the beach just a short walk from town. Incrediable rooms and service. Wonderful restraunt and bar, what more could you ask for.
It is a bit of a drive from Puerto Viejo, but well wort it. The owners were great as well as the food.
Horseback Riding
My Rating:10
Able to book throgh your hotel or the web site, riding with Vanessa Petin was great. We met up at her house, got the horses ready and the three of us were off. She took us through the jungle towards the beach, telling us about the area along the way. Once we got to the beach she let us ride them, and really fast. We galloped allong the beach and through the surf until town. We stopped for a coffee and sanck before heading back. It was so wonderful to have the freedom to be able to gallop and ride with out a large tour group.
Just outside of town there is a "botanical Gardens". For just a few dollars you get an introduction and a map and then sent on your way to wander through the "garden". Well what it is actually is a bromeliad nursery that is on the grounds of an abandoned cacao farm. It was hard to tell if you were on the path, so you just crossed your fingers that you were heading the right way...with that being said, there was a lot of great plants to see. All sorts of medicinal and furit species as well as drecorative ones. Also there was dart frogs all over the place! At the end of your walk they had some fuit to sample from the different tree there and also great black pepper! (which I still currently use at home!). They offer a guided tour which I wish we would of taken instead of winging it ourselves.
