The fam decided to take a little road trip up north. We left the East Bay and our first stop was Redding. We proceeded north towards Mount Shasta and into Medford, Oregon for the night. The next morning we headed to Grants Pass which is a beautiful old town with a lovely river with parks. We headed back to California via Highway 1. We spent some time admiring the Redwoods, and the Pacific coastline before stopping in Eureka for the night. On our last day we drove through scenic towns such as Laytonville, Willits, and Ukiah. It was a really relaxing ride for an unexpected journey.

Redwood National Forest

The Redwoods are massive and majestic. Driving through the park is awesome but you have to stop and walk into the forest to really enjoy the sounds, and the darkness of the forest.

Picnic along the river at Grants Pass, OR

Grants Pass is a charming old town with great shops and restaurants. It's fun just to drive through the town and look at the adorable homes. But you have to drive over the river and stop at one of the parks for a little break or a nice picnic.

If you love all the fruit and chocolates and nuts from Harry & David's then you have to visit the headquarters in Medford, Or.
